Meet BabyLog Insights: Your Baby's Pattern, Not the Average Baby's
Insights is the small in-app line that learns from your own logs and quietly tells you when today is different from your baby's usual pattern. Here's what's free, what's Pro, and when it deliberately says nothing at all.

Open BabyLog lately and you might've spotted something new and very small — a little INSIGHTS line tucked under one of your usual rows.
That's Insights. No new screen, no dashboard, no chart to work out. Just a quiet note, now and then, about how your bub's day compares to their own usual pattern.
Here's the quick tour: what it does, what's free, what's Pro, and when it says nothing at all.
The facts are free. The pattern's the clever bit.
Your Today at a glance card has always shown the plain facts — last feed, how long bub slept, how many nappies. That's free, and it stays free.
Insights adds one small line underneath: your baby's own running average. avg breast time 1h 45m/day. avg sleep 8h 52m/day. wake window 0.8h–1h.
The factual rows are free for everyone. The INSIGHTS lines are the Pro bit.

Your baby, not the average baby
Most "insights" you'll see elsewhere are really just averages from a big pile of other people's babies. Handy as a rough guide — but they can make a perfectly happy bub look "wrong" for simply being themselves.
Insights does the opposite. It learns your baby's last 7, 14 and 30 days and quietly works out what's normal for them.
When a day lines up with that, it just says · on track. No score, no fuss. When it's a bit different, it tells you plainly — in real minutes and millilitres, not percentages you have to decode at 2am.

It pipes up right where you're already looking
Insights doesn't ping you or stack up notifications. It just leaves a small note on the screen you've already opened.
Start a breast feed and it might remind you which side you're up to: Last fed right — try left. Have a busy, feed-after-feed sort of evening and your timeline might note a cluster — a normal run of feeds close together, with a tap to learn more.

A small nudge in the moment: Last fed right — try left.

A run of feeds close together, named calmly — not flagged as a problem.
And it knows when to pipe down
This is the bit we care about most. Insights is not medical advice, and it never pretends to be.
When bub's unwell, when there's been a gap in your logging, or when there just isn't enough to go on, Insights goes quiet. And your safety and support info — temperatures, symptoms, the red-flag prompt to call 000 — stays right there for everyone. Free, never behind Pro.

What's free, what's Pro
Free, always:
- Today at a glance — the plain daily facts
- Your last 30 days of summaries
- All safety and support info
Pro Insights:
- Your baby's own usual ranges (the 7/14/30-day patterns)
- The small pattern notes — feeds, sleep, nappies, pumping
- on track and day-vs-usual context
- Your complete history
And a nice one: when a partner or family member goes Pro, everyone you share that baby with gets Pro on that baby too — at no extra cost.

Worked out on your phone
Insights runs right on your device, from the logs already on it. Nothing new gets sent off to make it work, and it's just as happy offline as on.
Same idea as the rest of BabyLog — your data stays yours. More on that in how BabyLog works with the AI you already use and why we built a PWA.
Give it a go
BabyLog's free to start. Log your feeds, sleeps and nappies the way you already do, and Insights will quietly start to learn your bub's pattern as the days add up.
When you're ready for the personal layer, Pro Insights is there — and it covers everyone on the baby.
Your baby's pattern, not the average baby's. Quietly, and only when it's worth saying.

Built for the 3am Log: Why BabyLog Feels Easier to Use
BabyLog is designed for the real moments parents log baby care: one-handed, tired, interrupted, and often without wanting to type. Here's why the UI feels lighter in daily life.
