Features
BabyLog has seven log types, each built for daily baby care. Here's what each one captures and how the app organises your data.
Home
The Home screen shows a tile for each activity type with the most recent log entry. You can reorder tiles or hide types you don't use from the customise button on the Home screen.
Tap any tile to jump straight to logging that activity.
Feed
Track breast feeds and bottle feeds.
- Breast — left side, right side, or both; duration in minutes per side
- Bottle — volume in ml
- Estimated — mark a feed as estimated if you're guessing the amount
- Notes — free text
BabyLog shows a feed estimate on the Overview tile based on your recent feeding pattern.
Sleep
Two ways to log sleep:
- Timer — tap start when your baby falls asleep, tap end when they wake
- Manual — enter a start and end time to record a past sleep
Duration is calculated automatically either way.
- Notes — free text
Nappy
Log nappy changes with one tap.
- Type — wee, poo, mixed, or clean
- Colour — tar, mustard, gold, orange, brown, frothy, green, olive, red, chalk, black
- Consistency — watery, runny, mushy, pasty, formed, hard pellets
- Notes — free text
Solids
Track food introduction and reactions.
- Food — what they ate (select from common foods or free text)
- Amount — taste, small, medium, or large
- Reaction — loved, liked, allergic, or disliked
- Notes — free text
Reaction history helps you keep track of which foods have been introduced and how they went.
Pumping
Log expressed milk sessions.
- Start time and end time
- Total volume (ml)
- Left / right portion — optionally split the total between sides
- Notes — free text
Bath
A simple timestamp so every carer knows when the last bath was.
- Time — when the bath happened
- Notes — free text
Note
Free text for anything that doesn't fit another category — a milestone, a doctor's observation, a moment you want to remember.
- Time — when it happened
- Text — required
Logs page
The Logs page has three views:
Timeline
A reverse-chronological list of all logs, grouped by day. The day header shows the date and your baby's age in days.
- Filter by date range — Today, Past 7 days, Past 30 days, or a custom range
- Filter by type — show all log types or just one
- Share with AI — tap the share icon to copy your filtered log data as a structured prompt for any AI assistant (see AI Integration)
Tap any log entry to edit or delete it.
Calendar
A week-based calendar view showing your logs laid out by time of day. Useful for spotting daily patterns at a glance — when feeds cluster, how sleep blocks shift across the week.
Summary
Charts and summaries built from your log history. Summary covers feed, sleep, nappy, solids, pumping, and bath — everything except notes.
